Ian Shaw’s most iconic show celebrating the great singer-songwriters from Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Carol King and Stevie Wonder to Elton John, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse. Original songs of Ian’s also feature.
Ian has been described as one of the most distinctive, original and creative jazz singers that the UK has produced, as well as being a talented pianist, song writer, presenter and record producer. Twice voted “Best Jazz Vocalist” at the prestigious BBC Jazz Awards, the recorded output of the London based singer and consummate showman includes three US releases. His most recent album, “Shine Sister Shine” (his second for the Jazz Village label) has received glowing reviews from the press and audience alike. His solo shows and performances with his regular piano trio become ever more popular but he is also much in demand as the featured soloist with big bands and orchestras both in the UK and internationally. A regular headline draw at London's iconic Ronnie Scott's (he presents their worldwide radio show also), Shaw has regularly toured the US, Canada, Australia, the Far East as well as all across Europe.
'a brilliant vocal chameleon . . . there’s actually more heart in Ian Shaw’s cleverness than in many singers who wear their hearts conspicuously on their sleeves' -The Telegraph
Sara Dowling with the music of Ella Fitzgerald
Ella Fitzgerald was an American jazz singer sometimes referred to as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz, and Lady Ella. She was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing, intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability.
Singing the music of Ella Fitzgerald comes Sara Dowling, with piano and double bass accompanists, is now recognised as one of the U.K's leading jazz vocalists and has just been awarded “Best Vocalist” in the 2019 British Jazz Awards.
She is a regular performer at Ronnie Scotts and the 606 Club and enjoyed a sold out concert in her 2019 Jazz Divas Series at The Pheasantry singing the music of Judy Garland; a concert she will present on January 28th At The Crazy Coqs.
She is becoming known for her interpretations of classic ballads, leaving audiences spell bound, as well as the energy and vigour with which she tackles the up tempo standards from the American Song Book.
Her distinctive voice owes much to her Irish father and Lebanese mother, surrounded by the records of her father's jazz collection and the chant like voices of Lebanese singers. Sara's album From Shadows Into Light received a five star review from Jazz Journal.
'Her voice has all the qualities that you find in the great singers' – Guy Barker

The Dolly Show
It is with great pleasure we welcome to Studio 5 the multi-award-winning Australian singer and comedienne Kelly O'Brien as Dolly Parton.
Described as ‘the best in the world' by the BBC and voted the No. 1 Dolly Parton tribute by the Agents Association of Great Britain, this lady is supremely talented.
Kelly is a brilliant vocalist who has performed as Dolly all over the world for almost 10 years.
She looks like Dolly, she sounds like Dolly and she's as funny and witty as Dolly.
This intimate piano show is sure to be a sell-out, as Kelly brilliantly recreates the vitality and voice of the little lady from Tennessee.
The show features hits: Jolene, 9 to 5, Islands in the Stream and the biggest selling single of all time by a female artist - 'I will Always Love You'.
You can even have a chat with the little lady herself.
“Unlike any tribute show you know. She’s the Fortnum and Mason of tributes.”
Miss Hope Springs
Comedy cabaret chanteuse down on her luck highly medicated ‘recovering showgirl’ Miss Hope Springs plays the piano and sings songs from her all-original repertoire and recounts tales from her Ritz-to-the-pits showbiz life. You’ll hear hysterical stories interspersed with songs about her various paramours from Liberace to Barry Manilow, and she spills the beans about what it’s like to live with her husband Irving and his hairdresser pal Carlos in a camper van in Dungeness.
Still wearing the sequinned pantsuit and marabou boa she was wearing when she left the Pink Pelican Casino in 1972, Hope brings you her unique blend of finger snapping pop, romantic rhumbas, sassy bossa novas and smouldering torch songs in this unique ‘laugh-out-loud, move-you-totears show’.
Join Hope as she opens her battered 'suitcase of dreams' to share more magical musical mementos.’
